The Les Snyder Collection

Les Snyder went to Arabia in 1938 as Chief Field Engineer for Casoc and remained there for more than 20 years. Part of his legacy includes these wonderful photographs of the country on the very edge of its transition into a modern industrial nation.

The Tarvin Collection

We are pleased to introduce the John C. Tarvin Collection of photographs taken in Saudi Arabia in 1947 by the renowned photographer Robert Yarnall Richie.

Photos by Karl Hoke

It is a privilege to showcase the work of the talented photographer Karl Hoke. Taken more than 25 years ago, these pictures are a delightful glimpse of everyday life in the Kingdom in the early 1970's.

The Lunde Collection

John P. Lunde arrived in Saudi Arabia in 1939. One of the pioneers of Casoc, the company that would become Aramco, he spent more than 35 years in the Kingdom before retiring as the Senior Vice President of Engineering. Because of their precise annotation as to date and place, his photographs from the early days are an especially valuable archival asset.
